Summary:
As our Housing Case Manager, you will use your outgoing nature and strong social skills to build connections and relationships with clients in our community who are in need of housing assistance. Your ability to be independent and flexible will guide your daily work and your leadership skills will support you as you delegate tasks to other team members and volunteers. We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), and we are searching for a highly detailed Housing Case Manager to provide comprehensive case management services for our agency.
What you’ll need to be our Housing Case Manager: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
  • 1 or more years prior related experience
  • Preference given to bilingual English/Spanish speaking applicants
  • Attention to building and maintaining relationships
  • Empathetic and socially focused
  • Collaborative, team and customer service oriented
  • Flexible and out-going
  • Energetic, free-flowing and informal in your approach to daily tasks
  • Comfortable with delegating tasks
  • Ability to be independent and self-directed in your work

  • Starting Pay - $20.93
What you’ll do as the Housing Case Manager: 
  • Responsible for processing and approving or denying housing assistance applications. This includes;
    1. Determine participant eligibility through the intake process following current eligibility requirements from funding sources.
    2. Verify receipt of required documentation
    3. Direct communication with applicant and landlord via phone, email, or in-person meetings
    4. Submit rental payment requests on behalf of the tenant.
  • Connect participants with internal and community resources that assist them in achieving goals set out in their case management plan. Refer all families to meet with a TANF employment counselor.
  • Provide customer service by answering phone calls and emails, answering questions, providing support, and determining eligibility.
  • Communicate with landlords to determine housing assistance needs and obtain required documentation.
  • Enter participant’s application, service information, and notes into database. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and be able to navigate multiple database systems quickly.
  • Work towards developing an extensive working knowledge of social services and community resources for participants.
  • Position currently funded through 2028.
