Position: Park Executive Director for Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park
Job Goal: To implement the Dinosaur Parks Mission through active management of staff, programs, fundraising, and educational activities.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year salary, plus bonus potential based upon park performance.
Reports to: Board of Directors (Executive Board & General Board)
Supervises: Entire Museum Management team, all staff members, and Park Volunteers
Work Hours: Full-Time Salaried Exempt Position, including some weekends and holidays (includes Sick Leave & PTO)

Park executive director essential functions:
- Directs Park operations.
- Designs guest service experience and oversees the guest services department directly.
- Manages Park finances under Board direction, including keeping accurate financial records.
- Communicates with the Board and enacts Board policies.
- Writes and fulfills grants together with management staff.
- Oversees marketing and website.
- Manages staff and volunteers.
- Coordinates Park projects
- Networks with community partners and other organizations
- Establishes and maintains effective communication with the Board of Directors.
- Coordinates all Board-related activities and meetings with Board Secretary
- Creates procedures to carry out policies set by the Board.
- Manages the daily operation of the Park to establish and maintain its financial stability.
- Helps to identify grants and other funding sources, selects and develops grant projects, and prepares information for grants.
- Oversees all contracts and financial records including donor and grant records.
- Provide monthly reporting on financial and attendance figures to Dinosaur Park Foundation members and appropriate Ogden City officials.
- Maintains the Park's policy manual through coordination with the Dinosaur Park Foundation Board.
- Protects and maintains the Park's assets in concert with and coordinating the efforts of the Maintenance Director and Education Director
- Assists the Board of Directors in planning and implementing strategic business plans.
- Serves on all Board committees or assigns a management staff member to such committees.
- Assists the Board in developing short- and long-term operational, capital, and project budgets.
- Supervises all employees of the park and provides clear leadership.
- Assists the Board of Directors by defining staff assignments, staff roles, and responsibilities.
- Assists Board in providing applicants for employment for review and hire.
- Trains staff through regular staff meetings or assigns management staff to hold needed training.
- Presides over regular management meetings at least monthly.
- Executes all contracts as approved by Dinosaur Park Board.
- Works with the Park Education Director to develop exhibits, including needed repairs and exhibit expansion.
- Works with the Park Events Coordinator to schedule and oversee special events.
- Pursues continuing education in business management and relevant paleontology, geology, and other science issues in order to provide and support training initiatives.
- Serves as a spokesperson representing the Dinosaur Park.
- Serves on other boards and committees whose goals are compatible with the Park's mission.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Board of directors.
