WAMSafety.com (Why Awareness Matters) is dedicated to protecting children, strengthening families, and improving overall safety in our homes, schools, communities, and online spaces. Our mission is simple but powerful: awareness saves lives, prevents harm, and empowers people to act.
We believe safety must begin before a crisis happens. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, WAMSafety.com equips parents, caregivers, educators, and communities with the tools they need to recognize risks early, prevent harm, and respond confidently when safety concerns arise.
A cornerstone of our work is leading the effort to create a nationwide, easy-to-remember 3-digit phone number for abuse and human trafficking—similar to how 911 serves emergencies and 988 serves mental health crises. When time matters most, people don’t remember long phone numbers. A simple 3-digit number can save lives by providing a clear, immediate path to help.
