About Us

The John Volken Academy is a long-term residential life skills program dedicated to helping men build strong character, personal responsibility, and lasting behavioral change. Through structure, accountability, education, and real-world work experience, students develop the tools needed for sustainable independence. Our program emphasizes discipline, work ethic, leadership, and service, preparing men to re-enter society as productive, contributing members of the community.

A core focus of the Academy is family reunification. As students grow in stability and character, they work to rebuild trust, restore relationships, and re-engage as healthy fathers, sons, and partners. Stronger men lead to stronger families and stronger communities.

Students gain hands-on workforce training through our social enterprises. Academy Movers provides professional residential and commercial moving services across Northern Utah, known for reliability and professionalism. Academy Thrift offers affordable clothing, furniture, and household goods while directly supporting our mission.
