Most operational drag comes from three things: work that's more manual than it needs to be, knowledge that doesn't carry from one person or month to the next, and tools that weren't built for the job they're being used for. Over 25+ years in accounting, controllership, and finance leadership across manufacturing, energy, and multi-entity companies, I've learned to find those gaps and close them.

As a CPA and IRS Enrolled Agent, I've led ERP implementations, shortened month-end close cycles, and built controls that hold up under audit and SOX review. In my current consulting work, I've used AI-powered workflows to cut a client's bank reconciliation from five days to two hours and turn it into a recurring task. My approach is to map how work actually gets done, match each task to the right tool, automate what repeats, and document the rest in SOPs so the work runs the same way no matter who's doing it.
