We are pleased to announce Dr. Katie Nelson as our speaker for the March WIB Luncheon. Dr. Nelson, a native of Utah and a Weber State Wildcat, will share amazing stories about the colorful women in Ogden’s vibrant past as a global immigrant hub, aligning with our focus for Women’s History Month.
Dr. Katie Nelson is a renowned World Historian and author of What's Her Name: A History of the World in 80 Lost Women. After years of researching local history for the Weber County Heritage Foundation, Katie has become a passionate advocate for Weber County’s often-overlooked global history. She is also the host of the acclaimed women’s history podcast What'sHerName, and she leads both local and international history tours.
With the stories Dr. Nelson will provide, you will leave this session feeling more deeply connected to the story of Utah and understand how our modern times are a product of the hard work of countless resilient and inspiring women who have set the stage for our lives today.
Dr. Nelson loves Ogden and is proud to call it home. She and her husband spend their time fixing up a 1892 Victorian cottage, while tending their two kids and rescue schnauzer. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, rearranging her furniture and traveling
