Join us for August's Women In Business Luncheon featuring Education Advisor to Utah's Governor Herbert, Tami Pyfer.
Since January 2014, Tami Pyfer has been serving as Education Advisor to Governor Gary R. Herbert. Upon being appointed to this position, Tami left her elected position as a member of the State Board of Education, where she served for 4 years, and also her work as a Research Coordinator and Clinical Instructor in the College of Education at Utah State University. She maintains the status of adjunct faculty in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation.
Prior to her service on the State Board of Education, Tami served eight years on the Logan City Council and seven years as Executive Director of the Logan Schools Foundation. For 22 years, Tami was active in her children’s education serving in various capacities from PTA president to Community Council member. She also served on numerous community boards and commissions in Cache Valley.
Tami's experience in local and state government, as well as public and higher education have given her a broad perspective on Utah's education system, and insight on ways to improve outcomes for students at all levels.
She and her husband, Aaron, are the parents of five children and grandparents to 8. Although they now live in South Jordan, they spent over 34 years living and raising their family in Logan.
