Ribbon Cutting: Light the World Giving Machines @ Christmas Village

This holiday season, Ogden is proud to be one of 108 locations worldwide hosting the Light the World Giving Machine—a unique vending machine, that works in reverse, where every purchase makes a difference to a person in need. Starting December 3, 2024, the Giving Machine will be located at Christmas Village in the Ogden Amphitheater.

Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these special vending machines allow individuals to purchase much-needed items such as clothing, baby supplies, hygiene products, meals, medical needs and even livestock like chickens, all of which go directly to benefit people in need. Items range in price from $5 to $100. Every donation helps make a difference to those served by both local and international charities.

Local nonprofit beneficiaries of the Ogden Giving Machine this year include:

• Ogden School Foundation
• Weber School Foundation
• YCC Family Crisis Center

For those unable to visit the machines in person, donations can also be made online at lighttheworld.org/give, with 100% of contributions going directly to the participating charities.
